Photos and Pricing

Take photos that sell and price your listing to move quickly without leaving money on the table.

Two things sell a listing faster than anything else: great photos and a fair price.

Quick steps

  1. Shoot in natural daylight against a neutral background
  2. Cover every angle, plus the serial-number area
  3. Check sold listings of the same model to price competitively

Photos that sell

  • Use natural light. A clean surface near a window beats any indoor lamp.
  • Neutral background. A folded gray towel or plain wood works. Skip the bedspread.
  • Cover every angle. Left, right, top, bottom, muzzle, breech, optic, accessories.
  • Show wear honestly. Close-ups of any scratch, holster wear, or finish loss.

How many photos?

Up to 10. Three is the minimum that gets serious attention; 6-8 is the sweet spot. The first photo is the cover — pick the best.

Pricing

Search recent sold listings of the same make, model, and condition on American Gun Trader. Average them. Price within 5% of average for normal speed, slightly under for a fast sale, slightly over if your example is exceptionally clean or has rare features.

When to drop the price

If you have had 50+ views but no serious messages after a week, your price is the problem. Drop 5-10% and see what happens.

Tip: An honest listing at a fair price sells in days. An optimistic listing sits for months.
