Karma is a trust score on your public profile. It starts at 500, which reads as Neutral. The word next to the number is the part that matters.
What the words mean
The score moves when you do things other members can see, and when the account breaks a rule. A brand-new member who has only confirmed an email is still Neutral. Verifying a US mobile number is enough to reach Good.
- Excellent β 750 and up
- Very good β 650 to 749
- Good β 550 to 649
- Neutral β 450 to 549, including the starting score of 500
- Bad β 350 to 449
- Very bad β under 350
This is not a star rating
Stars come from members who chose to rate a sale. Karma comes from what the account actually did: verifying a phone, finishing an auction, replying, or breaking a messaging rule. One person cannot hand you a one-star out of spite and move the word on your badge.
Where you see it
Open any member profile. The word sits in the row with their other stats, and the latest deeds are listed at the bottom of the page. The number under the word is the score. The color around the photo tracks the same scale.
The list shows the latest 20 deeds, not every event that ever happened. The score itself is the full total.
How it changes
Each deed adds or removes points. See every way to earn or lose karma.
