The Rossi RS22 Pistol with folding brace is an innovative addition to the world of firearms, transforming a familiar rimfire platform into a compact, highly adaptable package that is just fun to shoot. Built around the same action that powers its RS22 rifle line, this pistol is designed for versatility, making it ideal for plinking, small game hunting, or general range work. If you're looking for a light, quiet, low-recoil trainer that runs on inexpensive ammo, the Rossi RS22 is worth considering.
Key Features of the Rossi RS22 Pistol
At the core of the Rossi RS22 Pistol is a 6-inch, threaded barrel cut 1/2×28, allowing for easy attachment of common .22 LR suppressors and muzzle devices. This feature enhances the shooting experience, particularly for those who prefer a quieter operation. Rossi ships the pistol with a 10-round magazine, compatible with RS22 rifles, making it convenient for existing owners.
Simple and Familiar Controls
The RS22 pistol is a semi-auto with a hammer-fired action and a cross-bolt safety. It features an aluminum optics rail for mounting red dots and a short accessory rail for lights or lasers. These rails make the pistol feel more like a compact PCC trainer than a traditional .22 plinker, allowing shooters to customize their setup for various scenarios.
Stabilizing Brace for Enhanced Control
Rossi has incorporated a rear-facing Picatinny section for attaching a stabilizing brace, including the optional Strike Industries FSA brace. This brace folds for easy storage and transport, making it a practical choice for shooters on the go. When unfolded, it provides added support, making the gun easier to manage for new shooters and those looking to improve their shooting speed.
Compact and Lightweight Design
With an overall length of 22.75 inches and an unloaded weight of just 2.23 pounds, the Rossi RS22 Pistol is designed for portability without sacrificing functionality. The matte black carbon steel barrel and polymer frame ensure durability while maintaining a lightweight profile.
Why Choose the Rossi RS22 Pistol?
This pistol is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a compact firearm that offers flexibility without being unwieldy. Whether you're a seasoned shooter or a beginner, the Rossi RS22 Pistol provides a user-friendly experience that won't intimidate new users. Its ability to run on inexpensive ammo makes it a cost-effective option for training and recreational shooting.
