Local sales follow state law. Review your buyer's state rules before agreeing to ship. Interstate sales route through an FFL in the buyer's home state.

Frequently asked questions
What should you know about GunValues alternative?
This American Gun Trader marketing guide explains GunValues alternative for buyers, sellers, and dealers who want a commission-free classifieds workflow. We cover how free listings, moderated messaging, optional auctions, and FFL transfer resources fit together on one platform — without paywall listing fees on ordinary private sales. Buyers can browse live inventory nationwide, filter by category and location, and message sellers on-platform before arranging a lawful transfer through a licensed dealer when required. Sellers post accurate photos and condition notes at zero commission on private trades, with human review reducing spam patterns common on open classifieds. Federal and state transfer rules still apply; our how-to guides and state law library summarize what to verify before shipping or meeting in person. American Gun Trader connects parties but does not process firearm payments or transfers — you remain responsible for lawful compliance in your jurisdiction.
Is American Gun Trader a GunValues alternative?
Many sellers searching for a GunValues alternative want free listings, secure messaging, and clearer moderation. AGT is built for that workflow — compare features side by side and choose what fits your sale.
Do I need a paid membership to list on AGT?
No. Creating an account, posting listings, messaging, bidding, and joining groups are free. Optional paid boosts are clearly labeled.
When is GunValues still a better fit?
GunValues may still work if you prefer its existing buyer pool or posting habits. AGT fits sellers comparing free listings, moderation, and secure messaging side by side.
How do interstate transfers work on AGT?
For a typical private sale between residents of different states, arrange transfer through an FFL in the buyer's state of residence. AGT helps buyers pick a receiving dealer and publishes state-by-state transfer guides.
Can verified FFL dealers use AGT?
Yes. Verified dealers get WooCommerce sync, a dealer REST API, an AI agent, bulk FFL Tools, a dealer badge, and priority in the transfer FFL picker.
