Our story

Started by one guy who was done watching everyone get gouged

No corporation, no investors. Just a regular gun owner who watched FFLs and everyday buyers get bled dry by the big sites: fat commissions, listing fees, charges piled on top. So he built the marketplace he wished existed.

Zero commission, ever

The big sites skim every sale. We take none.

Free to list

Post your firearm with no listing fee. No pay-to-play.

What is American Gun Trader?

What is American Gun Trader? American Gun Trader is a free gun classifieds marketplace where private sellers and licensed FFL dealers list new and used firearms, parts, and gear for sale across the United States. Buyers browse hand-reviewed listings, compare prices and condition notes, and message sellers through secure moderated chat instead of posting phone numbers in public comments. Sellers publish ads with photos in minutes, set their own asking price, and pay zero commission on ordinary private sales — optional boosts and dealer subscriptions fund the site without listing fees. Inventory spans factory-new and pre-owned guns; the platform is not used-only or by-owner-only. When federal or state law requires it, buyer and seller complete the transfer through a licensed FFL and background check, and AGT guides explain those steps in plain language. Every ad is reviewed before it goes live, messaging is moderated to reduce scams, and listings refresh continuously as sellers add and remove guns.
