What is American Gun Trader and how does its gun classifieds marketplace work? American Gun Trader is a free firearms classifieds platform where private sellers and FFL dealers post guns for sale across the United States. Buyers browse live listings for handguns, rifles, shotguns, parts, and accessories; filter by category, caliber, manufacturer, state, price, and condition; then message sellers through moderated chat. Sellers create listings with photos and descriptions in minutes, set their own asking price, and pay zero commission on private sales. When a sale crosses state lines or federal law requires it, the buyer and seller complete the transfer through a licensed FFL background check — our guides explain those steps in plain language. Every listing is reviewed before it goes live, messaging is moderated, and inventory refreshes continuously as new ads publish and sold items come down. American Gun Trader is built by gun owners for the 2A community: no auction closing fees, no middleman markup, and secure buyer-seller connections.
